Special Equivalencies

In recognition that our educational mission is global, Holos University specifically encourages students from all countries to enter our Master’s and Doctoral programs. Students who apply from non-English speaking areas need to have an adequate command of the English language and submit English translations of all documents relevant for application, as well as copies of the originals.

Bachelor’s Degree Equivalency
: For candidates without a formal Bachelor’s Degree from
accredited U.S. college or University, but with equivalency as determined by the Executive Committee: Upon recommendation by one of our faculty and a positive review by the Executive Committee, candidates may be granted a waiver of the Bachelor’s degree and be admitted directly into the Master’s program. Any licensed health professional with five years of experience may apply for the Bachelor's Degree Equivalency.

Master’s Degree Equivalency
: For Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and an exceptional portfolio: Upon recommendation by one of our faculty and a special review by the Executive Committee, candidates may be granted a waiver of the Master’s degree and be admitted directly into the ThD Program.

Transfers: Combined Transfer & Equivalency Credits may not exceed 18 hours. Master’s Degree students who have earned up to 12 hours of academic credit towards a Master’s in any accredited University or College may transfer those credits into the Master’s program at Holos University if they did not obtain a degree with these credit-hours. Up to 18 hours can be transferred towards the Doctoral program.

OTHER RECOGNIZED EDUCATION: (Transfer plus Equivalency may not exceed 18 hours.)

Barbara Brennan School of Healing: 12 hours of academic credit may be applied towards the Master’s, Doctoral, or combined Master’s/Doctoral programs.

Other Schools & Life Experience: Students entering the Master’s program may petition the Executive Committee, before entering (no later than the ORP course), to receive Holos University credits for specific life experience or courses taken since their last degree. Twelve hours maximum equivalency credits may be granted towards either a ThM or ThD degree.

Graduates of the Unity School of Ministry and Graduates of Other Ministerial Programs: A number of equivalency credits are given upon entry. This is done through a review by the Admissions Committee.

Graduates of the Energy Medicine University (EMU): Graduates of EMU who also have an undergraduate degree may now earn a Masters degree at Holos with or without a thesis.  Their courses taken at EMU will be accepted to satisfy 18 graduate hours of credit required for the Masters at HU.

Core Star Program (Crabtree):  up to 12 hours of academic credit may be applied towards the Masters and up to 18 hours towards the Doctoral, or combined Masters/Doctoral programs.  Executive Review.

Combined Masters / Doctorate – Another alternative for Energy Medicine University graduates who already have an undergraduate degree and also have a strong interest in getting a Doctorate, is to enter the combined Masters/ Doctorate, which ordinarily requires 75 hours but would require of them only 60 hours, with a possibility of getting up to six more hours of credit towards the Doctorate, leaving the total requirement for the combined degree between 54 and 60 hours.

3) Special Emphasis Track Non-Thesis Master's – EMU Students are invited to explore the possibility of obtaining a Special Emphasis Masters degree. Depending on the "equivalencies" allowed, this degree could be completed by taking 18 additional credit-hours in a Specialty Track.  Equivalencies are granted in consultation with each Track Director.
