Since the HU program degree began in 2001, HU graduates have found innovative ways to either chart new career opportunities or to integrate their knowledge, skills, and research outcomes into previously established professions and careers. In keeping with its stated visions, HU encourages graduates to emphasize a continued spiritual focus that will contribute to a more holistic balance of health and well-being in their professions and communities. The program at HU emphasizes personal growth, academic excellence, and research. The University does not provide training for licensure other than ministerial licensure for those ordained in its sponsoring church the All Faiths Church of Spirituality and Health.
Even though HU’s history is short, graduates are providing excellent examples of their accomplishments in diverse occupations such as:
Directors of Integrative or Complementary and Alternative Clinics that are adjuncts of established hospitals;
Spiritual intuitive advisors in the ministerial work of established churches;
Spiritual counseling Intuitives in psychologically based holistic clinics;
Independent Spiritual Directors;
Holistic consultants in private and public practices; and
Lecturers, Writers, Publishers, Educators, and Researchers in spiritual and holistic integrative health approaches.
