General
Integrated Medicine Integrated Medicine is known by several other names including Holistic Medicine, Alternative Medicine, and Complementary Medicine. This medical perspective known widely as CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) is best described on the NCAM website: http://nccam.nih.gov/health/whatiscam/ Most of the courses taught at HU are based in this alternative approach to health and healing with a special emphasis on its spiritual aspects. Thus, many of our dissertations might aptly be considered, spiritual research. The HU Special Emphasis Track, Integrative Healthcare, concentrates its program of study on CAM approaches to healing. In practical terms Integrated Medicine requires integration of body, mind, emotions and spirit in diagnosing and treating diseases to achieve Holistic health, wellness and spiritual healing in addition to personal growth & development. HU supports the principles of holism with its mostly distance learning graduate program that includes a study of: personal development, consciousness studies, holistic medicine, energy medicine, integrated medicine, alternative medicine, holistic healing, spiritual research, spiritual direction, and the transformational aspects of transpersonal psychology. |
