REGULATIONS  GOVERNING PROGRAM SELECTION
Students who enroll in a degree program are governed by the set of requirements for completion of the degree in place at the time they enroll.  They can, at any time replace that set of requirements with a subsequent set of requirements (some requirements will change with each enrollment period), but they can not “mix and match” within the original set and the new, substitute set.  Changing to a subsequent set of requirements may add to or subtract from the credit hours required for graduation.  Advisors help students ascertain the consequences of a change from one set of program requirements to another and to subsequently select courses that will fulfill the requirements governing their program of choice.

OPTION I:  BASIC DOCTORAL DEGREE (See description below):  61-hour minimum requirement includes 43 hours of Core courses and 18 hours of electives.

The minimum expected time for completing the doctorate is three to four years.  Students may enroll in a maximum of 15 credits (18 with written permission of the Executive committee) per semester.

OPTION II:  DOCTORAL DEGREE WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS TRACK:   Students who choose to enter a Special Emphasis Track in the Doctoral Program fulfill all 45 hours of required Core Courses plus specifically selected electives.  All Doctoral candidates complete 61 hours of credit for a Basic degree.

Students wishing to follow a Track and who are transferring equivalencies during enrollment, must consult the Track Director about whether any of those equivalencies will satisfy specific courses in the Track.  The granting of equivalencies for core course requirements not included in the Track is made by the Executive Committee.  Current Doctoral Students wishing to change into a Special Emphasis Track can contact the Dean of Academics.  CHECK LINK BELOW FOR OPTION II COURSE LISTINGS.

For Special Emphasis Tracks Check the following links:
