Combined ThM/ThD

REGULATIONS  GOVERNING PROGRAM SELECTION
Students who enroll in a degree program are governed by the set of requirements for completion of the degree in place at the time they enroll.  Students can, at any time replace that set of requirements with a subsequent set of requirements (some requirements will change with each enrollment period), but they can not “mix and match” within the original set and the new, substitute set.

Changing to a subsequent set of requirements may add to or subtract from the credit hours required for graduation.  Advisors help students ascertain the consequences of a change from one set of program requirements to another and to subsequently select courses that will fulfill the requirements governing their program of choice.

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS –COMBINED MASTERS/DOCTORAL
Students holding a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or its equivalent may elect to pursue the combined Masters and Doctoral degree (see individual program descriptions above).  In the first part of their program, students must satisfy all the core requirements for the Masters degree with the exception of 780 or 790.  Once they have completed these requirements, they must then satisfy all the requirements listed above for the 60-hour degree and, if desired, the extra 15 hours for the Special Emphasis Program.  The minimum credits required for the combined degree are 75 credit-hours.

Students enrolled in the Combined ThM and ThD program may be awarded the ThM degree when they have satisfactorily completed 45 hours of the combined program.  Those students who wish to receive this diploma at a graduation ceremony must notify the Registrar of their intent to attend the deadline posted on the Calendar in the semester in which they complete the 45 credit hours, or in the subsequent semester.
NOTE:  A syllabus for each course is available under Course Descriptions.  A supplement that contains information on specific assignments and deadlines must be requested by E-mail from the individual instructor.
