POST-DOCTORAL DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
HU Graduate Seminary offers a Post-doctoral Theological degree (ThD) to those individuals who have already graduated with a doctorate from an acceptable university.  This degree offers an opportunity to all those individuals who would like to enrich their previous studies with a focus on one of the Special Emphasis Tracks and other selected courses from the curriculum.  The Executive  Committee of HU will determine the eligibility for the post-doctoral degree, considering, for instance, if the work for the prior degree involved research for new knowledge.  To obtain the Post-Doctoral degree, a combination of course work, and the design and completion of a new research study are required.  Minimal requirements for the Post-doctoral degree consist of a total of 31 credit-hours consisting of:

• 1 credit-hour: Orientation (ORP)
• 15 credit-hours of course work based on ONE of the available Specialty Tracks. This may      consist of a combination of post-doctoral equivalency transfer credits plus courses from the Specialty Track
• 3 credit-hours of 996-Prelims
• 12 credit-hours of 998- Dissertation/Research

Transfer credits cannot have been used in fulfilling a previous degree program.  A maximum of  9 hours of transfer credits is allowed.  Instructor: To be designated by the Executive Committee.
